In an incredibly exciting first bracket game Friday afternoon, the Tigers came away with a one point win! The varsity girls were matched up in the first round of the bronze bracket against Troy High School. In a low scoring game, Belton led 16-10 going into half time. The tigers struggled to score in the third quarter and gave up the lead for the first time. With seconds to spare, freshman Ella Tucek crashed the offensive boards and finished a put back to give the Tigers the lead. The Tigers finished the game 29-28 to earn their most exciting win of the season so far.
Emma Flory had her best game which included 9 points and many other in-tangibles. Lily Trujillo, Avelle Bonfoh, Kaylie Pietras and Ella Tucek also added to the offensive book. Ke'ara Shanks was a huge part of the defensive success the Tigers had to keep the Trojans to a low score.

Saturday morning the Tigers finished out the Lorena Invitational tournament against Robinson High School. The Tigers had a slow start, struggling to score. A strong third quarter showed that they were not out-matched, but simply had dug too much of a hole to come back from. Even though it was a 49-24 loss, the girls learned what it meant to fight to the finish. Kaylie Pietras was the offensive stand out, having 21 of the afternoon's points.

The girls will face Rouse high school Tuesday for their last pre-district match up.
