The Freshman Red got their second win in district play with a 40 - 10 victory over the Waco Lady Lions. The Tigers came out the gate playing great defense forcing a lot of turnovers and would take a 19 - 5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers would lead the rest of the way taking a 25 - 8 lead at halftime and a 37 - 10 lead at the end of the 3rd. Saniya Huston was the team's leading defensive standout playing solid defense on Waco's best defender while Ke'Ayla Funches got her hands on quite a few deflections. Aubrey Edwards led the team with 12 points and played a vital role in slowing Waco down on defense. Nalelly Siprian knocked down three 3-pointers and Dylan Waldrep added 8 pts. This was another collective team effort on both ends of the floor. The Tigers are back at home Tuesday as they take on Lake Belton. Great job Tigers!
