Belton girls Varsity lost at home against the Ellison Eagles 54-26 Tuesday night. Although the score may not have shown it, there were many promising moments showing glimpses of the improvements the team has made over the course of the season so far. Reducing the point deficit from the first round match up by double digits was made possible by spreading the scoring out to 6 different teammates and keeping the Ellison's lead scorer to only 12 points. Tyler Waldrep led the Tigers with 7 points, including a momentum swinging 3 pointer. She was one of 4 Belton girls to score from beyond the arc. The Tigers travel to Waco University High School Friday night to continue second round play.
