The Tigers earned a long awaited district win Friday night at Waco University High School. In a very physical, back and forth game, the Tigers came out on top 36-34. Every teammate did their part. The bench was louder than ever; something the team talked about being a necessity for this game. The team went 10 for 13 from the freethrow line, a season high. Avelle Bonfoh led The Tigers with 13 points and 7 steals, including the game winner with less than 30 seconds on the clock after an important defensive rebound from Madison Bowling. Ella Tucek added 8 including her 4 for 4 freethrows and 3 steals. Sa'Deja Ellis added another 3 steals and 6 rebounds. Tyler Waldrep led the board with 9 rebounds. Emma Flory's and-1 finish was a huge moment to swing the momentum to the Belton side.
The Tigers have 3 district games left starting with Waco High on Tuesday at home.
