In a back and forth game against 6A Copperas Cove, the varsity girls basketball team fell 3 points short finishing 51-48 last night at home. Even though they had a slow start being down 8-11 after the first quarter, they went into half time with a 1 point lead. Allowing too many offensive rebounds may have been the difference in the game. Emma Flory had a momentum changing charge taken and added six points. Isabella Warner led the scoring with 15 points and also contributed 6 rebounds. Ella Tucek added another 12 points and Lily Trujillo knocked down a 3 to put the Tigers within striking distance with seconds on the clock. Defensively, Ke'Ara Shanks handled Cove's leading scorer well.
The Tigers are at home again Friday against College Station High School at 6:00pm.
