On Friday and Saturday, the Belton Girls freshman A Team traveled to the Delco Center in Austin, TX to compete in the McCallum Sub-varsity tournament. On Friday, the Tigers first took on the Manor Mustangs and took their first win of the tournament with a score of 36-14, led by Rylee Tyler with 9 points and Hannah Martinez with 6 points. Then, the Tigers took on the Austin Royals which who gave the tigers their first loss of the tournament with a score of 49-21. Leading scorer for this game was Natalie Stauffer with 11 points. For the last two games for the tournament, the Tigers took on the Florence Buffaloes and won with a score of 30-16, that game had stayed tight until the tigers held them scoreless in the 4th quarter. Leading scorers for this game was Genny Nelson with 10 points, Kadence Morales with 8 points and Ella Vaughn with 6 points. For the last game, the Tigers took on a talented Legacy Ranch and lost 45-14, with the leading scorers being Jada Gage and Genny Nelson with 4 points. Throughout the tournament, great defense was played by Jada Gage and Genny Nelson. The next game for the Freshman tigers will be at home against Temple on November 14th.
