On Tuesday night, the Belton Tigers Girls Basketball Team took on the Waco Connally Lady Cadets in a non-district game. This was the tigers first home game since Temple which took place roughly two weeks ago. The game had gotten to a quick start for the Tigers with the help of Lillian Baggett, Nat Stauffer and Laila Huston to gain a 24-4 lead in the first quarter of the game. This game was mostly scored within the paint, with the help from Gennie Nelson with all of her points coming from the paint. Each of the points scored from the tigers was well scored from each player, with the leading scorer being Gennie Nelson with 14 points and 10 rebounds, Laila Huston and Rylee Tyler both with 7 points. Mia Gonzalez contributed well with 4 points of her own and multiple players with at least 7 points. The final score for the game was 59-4 in favor of the tigers.
The next game for the tigers will be on the road against Caldwell at 5 P.M.
