On Tuesday night, the the Belton Tigers Girls Basketball team took on the Chaparral Girls basketball team in their last district game.

For the first half of the game was a tight game with the Bobcats leading the Tigers with their largest for the Bobcats being 9 points with good efforts from inside the paint from the Bobcats.

Coming into the second half, the Tigers had a great defensive run, only allowing 7 points while scoring 14 points on defensive transition, from players Kadence Morales, Lillian Baggett and Laila Huston.

This game primarily came down to who can score more within the paint, and the Tigers led that stat board with most of the points coming from Genny Nelson, who had 10 total points.

The Tigers were down by 4 points within the last 30 seconds in the game and secured a layup by Genny Nelson to cut it to two points. And with a great defensive effort from Nat Stauffer and a great pass to Kadence Morales to lay the ball and score and secure the lead and win in regulation.

The Tigers win their last game over the Bobcats 41-40 with a great overall game from every player.
