In a thrilling game Friday night, Belton fell just 3 points short of upsetting the currently undefeated (in district) Ellison.

The Tigers has a slow start but fortunately caused the Eagles to have the same. More high-effort defense had the girls going into half time up 14-11. Unfortunately, Ellison had a big 3rd quarter and closed the gap and some. It came down to the last few possessions and the Tigers gave themself a great opportunity to win it.

The Tigers shot 40% from the arc on the game and held Ellison to just 1 of 12. Leading the scoring front was Avelle Bonfoh who had an outstanding shooting night and contributed 16 points, Isabella Warner added an additional 8, Emma Flory the same, Madison Bowling had two huge put backs in the final quarter to add 4, and Emma Harvey also added a bucket to share the scoring between 5 Tigers.

Defense by Ke'Ara Shanks and Emma Flory on Ellison's lead scorer was the star of the show and the unstatted hero. However, the game plan would not have been successful if not all were on board and playing hard every possession.

In a "winner goes to playoffs" situation, Belton travels to Waco on Tuesday to conclude their regular season play.
