Girl's Powerlifting make another Strong Effort at the Bulldawg Classic

Another great team effort by our girls this week in earning another 3rd place finish. Eight of our lifters scored points by placing in the top 5 of their weight class. Rookie lifter Lauren Seidel claimed her first gold medal of her short career by lifting a new personal record of 490 lbs. Briley Campbell notched a 4th place finish in a very competitive weight class by lifting her season best of 580 lbs. Bella Reyes stayed on track by lifting 630 lbs to place 5th. Rachel Truitt has a new career total of 620 lbs that gave her a 4th place spot. Gabby Magana Avila has maintained consistently great in each meet and this week 710 lbs pulled in a 3rd place medal. Anahi Perez continued her improvement on the season, nearly matching her career best by lifting 735 lbs in taking 2nd place in the meet. Melissa Farmer's dominance in her weight class continued last night by winning the gold medal with a new career best total of 880 lbs. Newcomer Byonka Donaldson continues to make massing gains, increasing her personal record by 100 lbs for a total of 865 lbs and a 2nd place finish. Makayla Reyes and Abby Weiss both had a very competitive night as well and improved their personal best lifts by 10 lbs and 50 lbs, respectively.

The girls have 2 more regular season meets left, competing next week at Temple and Lake Belton. Final rankings will be posted the week of February 17 for the Regional Meet on March 1 at Del Valle High School.
