The Belton softball team traveled to College Station on Wednesday to play in the NFCA Leadoff Classic. Unfortunately due to weather, game schedules and opponents were changed.

The Tigers opened against Alpine on Thursday at 11 am. Unfortunately the Tigers fell 2-3. Hailey Schutz led the team with 3 hits on the game. Hanna Wheeler started in the circle for the Tigers and had zero hits over 3 innings. However she had 2 runs score. Reagan Stuart came in and closed for the last two innings for the Tigers with 0 hits and 3 strikeouts.

On Friday the Tigers had 3 games. On the day they went 1-2 against their opponents.

They opened against Friendswood and lost 3-9. Tara Stone threw for the Tigers and held the Mustangs to 14 hits and 7 earned runs. Jasmine Ruyle had a hit and 2 RBI's to help the Tigers fight back. Presli Thompson led the Tigers going 2 for 2 at the plate with 2 hits.

The Tigers continued their day against Whitehouse winning 3-2. Hanna Wheeler threw the first 4 innings for the Tigers giving up only 3 hits and 2 runs with 3 strikeouts. Tara Stone came in for relief for the last two innings with 0 hits. Stone also helped the Tigers with a 2 run homerun in the top of the first inning helping put 2 on the board. Reagan Stuart also had a great game at the plate going 3 for 3 with 2 hits.

The Tigers ended the day against Lovejoy with a 0-3 loss. Regan Stuart pitched 4 innings allowing only 3 runs on six hits with 3 strikeouts. Presli Thompson and Iris Molina each recorded a hit for the Tigers but could not string enough together to score runs.

Unfortunately due to weather the final two games of the Tournament were cancelled so the Tigers come back to play at home against Harker Heights on Monday 2/17 at 7 pm.
