This past Saturday, January 20th, the Belton ISD Swim Center hosted the District 22-5A Championship Meet, featuring swimmers from Killeen, Ellison, Chaparral, Shoemaker, Lake Belton, and Belton High School. The District Meet serves as the first step into our championship season, qualifying the top 6 competitors in each event for the Regional Championship hosted by A&M Consolidated on February 9th and 10th. For the first time in the past 4 years, every Belton swimmer that competed qualified for Region in each event they swam in! That means our Belton Tigers went a perfect 33 qualifications out of 33 swims! On top of that, the Girls' team controlled the scoring throughout the entire meet on their way to another District Championship! Our Boys' team fought hard against some top-notch swimmers in the District and for the 3rd year in a row, finished runner-ups. With that being said, our Boys' team was the smallest group at the meet, with only 5 swimmers, but still finished 2nd place. That is an incredible accomplishment, considering they put up 94 points!
