During Saturday afternoon, the Belton Swim Team competed in the Region VI-5A Swimming Championship Meet Finals, hosted by A&M Consolidated. With a spot in State on the line, our Belton Tigers fought hard to place 6th overall in Girls and 10th overall in Boys! Below are some of the highlights:

-200 Girls' Medley Relay (Martin, Malvaiz, Dangcalan, Detert) finished 7th with a 2:01.71
-200 Girls' Free: Liliana Nelson finished 4th with a 1:56.93
-200 Boys' Free: Addison Richardson finished 8th with a 1:50.81
-200 Girls' IM: Kirra Martin finished 11th with 2:24.04/Zayra Malvaiz finished in 15th with a 2:35.01/Mikayla Dangcalan finished in 16th with a 2:35.46
-200 Boys' IM: Hobson Baldridge finished in the 16th with a 2:10.83
-50 Girls' Free: Zee Gingerich finished in 14th with 26.04/Olivia Brillhart finished in 16th with a 26.29
-50 Boys' Free: Jaxon Isbell finished in 14th with a 23.48
-100 Girls' Butterfly: Mikayla Dangcalan finished in 16th with a 1:09.99
-100 Girls' Free: Zee Gingerich finished in 8th with a 56.89

-Girls' 200 Freestyle Relay (Nelson, Gingerich, Detert, Brillhart) finished in 7th with a 1:45.47
-Boys' 200 Freestyle Relay (Richardson, Jenkins, Baldridge, Isbell) finished in 8th with a 1:35.32
-100 Girls' Backstroke: Olivia Brillhart finished in 7th with a 1:02.36/Kirra Martin finished in 11th with a 1:04.07
-100 Boys' Backstroke: Raef Airhart finished in 16th with a 59.50
-100 Girls' Breaststroke: Zayra Malvaiz finished in 12th with a 1:17.60/Isabella Rodriguez finished in 15th with a 1:22.54
-Girls' 400 Freestyle Relay (Nelson, Gingerich, Martin, Brillhart) finished in 8th with a 3:50.18
-Boys' 400 Freestyle Relay (Richardson, Airhart, Baldridge, Isbell) finished in 8th with a 3:27.54

On top of all of that, Liliana Nelson and Addison Richardson were both called up to compete at the UIL-5A State Meet on February 23rd and February 24th. Liliana Nelson is currently ranked 11th in the 200 Freestyle and 13th in 500 Freestyle. Addison Richardson is currently ranked 16th in the 500 Freestyle. Top 16 will make it to State Finals and will compete on Saturday (February 24th)!
