Congratulations to Junior Liliana Nelson for placing in the top 24 overall fastest times in 5A for the 200 and 500 Freestyle! Liliana will compete at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swim Center in Austin, TX on February 23rd and 24th. Liliana enters State prelims with a 1:56.93 in the 200 Freestyle and a 5:16.93 in the 500 Freestyle. Lili's times have her ranked 11th in the 200 Free and 13th in the 500 Free. While Lili's 200 Freestyle time is her best, Lili's 500 Freestyle was faster at Region prelims with a 5:14.86, which gives us hope that she will be much faster at State! If Lili is to compete on Saturday in the State Finals, she must remain in the top 16!
On top of all that, Lili is 0.62 seconds away from breaking the Belton High School 200 Freestyle Record set by former Tiger Maddie Finley in 2018 (1:56.31)!

No matter the results on Friday, we are all extremely proud of Lili's efforts and dedication to get her to compete at such a high level meet!
