The Tigers made the trip out to Georgetown on Thursday night to face off against the Eagles. For the second time this season, the games kickoff was marked with a downpour of rain. The Tigers fell into and early hole in the first quarter and trailed 0-14 going into the second quarter. The Eagles capitalized on a scoring opportunity right before half making the score 0-21 with 30 seconds left before halftime. The Tigers however, would not go quietly into the night and thanks to a great throw and catch by Landon Owens and Evan Echipare. The Tigers found themselves on the board. The following possession saw the Eagles try and take a shot towards the endzone and it was picked off by Kendun Johnson, who was stopped just short of taking the interception to the house. After halftime, the Tigers commanded the clock and had a seven and half minute drive, but were stopped on fourth down by the Eagles. The fourth quarter saw unfortunately did not go in favor of the Tigers and they fell to the Eagles with a final score of 6-35.
Big contributors for the Tigers offense this week were Landon Owens, Evan Echipare, Timothy Cox, and Jaden Lopez-Rodriguez. On the Defensive side of the ball, Kendun Johnson recorded an interception and played great coverage, and the linebacker core was making plays around the field for the Tigers.
The Tigers have their first home game of the year next week on Wednesday 9/11 at 6:30 at Tiger Field.
