9th RED Tigers Earn 1st Victory of the Season, Defeat Patriots, 27-0

The Freshmen Red traveled to East View High School to play their first road game of the season. The Tigers hard work & improvement in all 3 phases of the game were evident throughout Wednesday night’s game.

The first quarter ended in a defensive stalemate with a score of 0-0. In the 2nd quarter, the Tigers would drive the field leading to an Oakley Torres 14-yard run being called out of bounds at the 1-yard line. Sawyer Harbin would punch it for the touchdown on a 1-yard run (Morgan Pascoe-extra point). The half would end with a score of 7-0 Tigers.

Nash Jordan would start off the Tiger scoring in the second half with a 4-yard touchdown run. Oakley Torres would have an 18-yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter (Morgan Pascoe-extra point). Adrian Hang would cap off the night of scoring for the Tigers with a 48-yard interception for a touchdown (Morgan Pascoe-extra point). The Tigers would get the win with a score of 27-0.

Other key plays in the game were strategically placed kickoffs by Morgan Pascoe, Interception by Anthony Garcia, Kickoff Recovery by Ricky Rivera, Fumble Recoveries by Rowdy Watson & Oakley Torres, Forced Fumble by Caleb Gutierrez, and Garret Stermer & Cason Morton with multiple sacks, hurries, and tackle for loss.

The Tigers will be back in action at San Angelo Central on Thursday, September 19th at 6:30pm.
