The Freshmen Red traveled down south to Cuero High School for their 5th game of the season and to end their tour of Texas for the time being.
The Gobblers opening possession would be the longest drive of the game lasting the entire 1st quarter and into the 2nd. The Tiger Defense would hold in the Red Zone not allowing any points.
A very slow start on both sides of the ball would cause the Tigers to go into halftime down 6-0. Thankfully, the “Second Half Tigers” would show up once again.
Offensively, the Tigers would start the scoring off with a Nash Jordan 8-yard rushing touchdown and again on a 24-yard run. The Tigers would go up 13-6. The next Tiger possession, Oakley Torres would break a 49-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion would make the score 21-6.
The Tiger Defense would get in on the scoring action for the 4th straight week. Oakley Torres would return a 28-yard interception for a touchdown.
Other key plays in the game would be onside kick and recovery by Morgan Pascoe, interceptions by Anthony Garcia and Morgan Pasoce, solid defensive line play by Daimeon Pryor and Giovani Rivero, and a fumble recovery by Rowdy Watson.
The Tigers are idle this week & will next be back in action at Ellison High School on Wednesday, October 9th at 5:00pm.
