On November 16th, the Belton Varsity Swim Team hosted the 4th annual Roy and Jean Potts Invite, alongside Lake Belton and New Tech. With a total of 16 teams and almost 250 athletes in attendance, the Belton Swim Center was filled with energy before the first race even started!

While Belton did put up a strong fight, both the Girls' and Boys' team finished 4th overall, being beaten by Lake Belton on both sides, but defeating the rest of their District rivals! With the likes of Addison Richardson, Liliana Nelson, Zee Gingerich, and Kirra Martin being out for a travel meet with their club, it was up to the other athletes to step up to ensure a top 5 finish for Belton!

Swimmers Raef Airhart (12th), Olivia Brillhart (12th), Natalia Kulisz (11th), Maddox Spence (11th), Sophia Detert (11th), Charlie Burns (9th), Micah Rodriguez (9th), Wyatt Nelson (9th), Ema Whitzel (9th), and Michael Nyah (9th) solely carried Belton to an impressive scoring day, with each swimmer dropping several seconds on each of their races to jump up multiple spots and steal points for Belton! Below were the highlights of the day:

-Girls' 200 Free: Ema Whitzel finished 1st with a 2:12.10
-Boys' 200 Free: Wyatt Nelson finished 4th with a 2:13.05
-Girls' 200 IM: Sophia Detert finished 2nd with a 2:40.48
-Boys' 200 IM: Micah Rodriguez finished 9th with a 2:38.74; Charlie Burns finished 11th with a 2:46.86
-Girls' 50 Free: Olivia Brillhart finished 2nd with a 26.57
-Boys' 50 Free: Maddox Spence finished 6th with a 25.91; Michael Nyah finished 45th with a 36.37
-Girls' 100 Fly: Natalia Kulisz finished 2nd with a 1:11.45
-Girls' 100 Free: Ema Whitzel finished 1st with a 1:00.56
-Boys' 100 Free: Raef Airhart finished 1st with a 52.11
-Girls' 500 Free: Sophia Detert finished 3rd with a 6:23.44
-Boys' 500 Free: Wyatt Nelson finished 1st with a 5:36.38; Micah Rodriguez finished 6th with a 5:58.55
-Girls' 200 Freestyle Relay (Kulisz, Detert, Whitzel, Brillhart) finished 1st with a 1:54.40
-Boys' 200 Freestyle Relay (Burns, Spence, Nelson, Airhart) finished 6th with a 1:50.61
-Girls' 100 Back: Olivia Brillhart finished 1st with a 1:05.46; Natalia Kulisz finished 2nd with a 1:11.63
-Boys' 100 Back: Raef Airhart finished 3rd with a 1:02.04; Maddox Spence finished 7th with a 1:11.21
