Lady Tiger Soccer played in the Georgetown Governor's Cup this weekend.

Thursday's game was against Austin's Liberal Arts & Science Academy (LASA). Ava Itz opened up the scoring and then assisted Destiny Schutz for the Tigers' two goals in a 2-2 tie.

Friday's game was against West Texas 6A powerhouse Wolforth Frenship. Destiny Schutz (assist Ava Itz) kept her scoring streak going with the game-opening goal. Penelope Vizcarra (assist Ava Itz), with a well-timed run down the center of the Frenship backline, gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

A wild game ensued. The following were the scorelines throughout the game: 2-2 tie, 4-2 Belton lead, 4-5 Belton loss, and an Elizabeth Marschall penalty kick save. It was a thrilling match. Also scoring for Belton were Kiersten Rowland (2x, assisted by Ava Itz) and Karington Kopriva.

The final tournament game of the season for Belton was against Leander Glenn on Saturday. Destiny Schutz powered down the sideline and crossed a ball that landed at the feet of Lauren McKinney for the Tigers' opening goal, leading to a 1-0 halftime advantage. The first goal scorer then turned into an assister for the Tigers' second goal, netted by Ava Itz, securing a 2-0 Belton Tiger win.

Next up for the Tigers is a neutral-site encounter with Kingwood Park on Thursday, marking their last game before district play.
