The Tigers powerlifting team put their strength to the test at the Bulldawg Classic, facing off against tough competition and delivering notable performances across multiple weight classes. With several lifters achieving impressive totals, the team continues to build momentum for the season.
In the 132-pound weight class, Ethan Walker stood out with a fourth-place finish, lifting a combined total of 700 pounds. His impressive showing placed him among the top lifters in his division. Josh Hogue also competed in the same weight class, securing an eighth-place finish with 440 pounds. He demonstrated great effort on the platform.
The 148-pound weight class saw Jakoby Perez put up a strong effort, finishing 13th with a total lift of 660 pounds, gaining valuable experience in a competitive field.
In the highly contested 165-pound weight class, three Tigers competed and put up impressive totals. Evan Echipare led the way with a 6th-place finish, posting a 920-pound total. Noah Hernandez and Dominic Weinert both lifted 800 pounds, with Hernandez finishing 12th due to weighing less, while Weinert placed 13th.
Moving up to the 181-pound weight class, Cody Behnk placed 11th, recording a total of 850 pounds. He displayed solid strength throughout his lifts.
In the 220-pound weight class, two Tigers battled against strong competition. Cameron Jones secured a 10th place finish with a 710-pound total, while Sylas Lopez finished 11th with 645 pounds, both lifters showing determination and grit on the platform.
The Bulldawg Classic gave the Tigers another chance to challenge themselves and improve as they continue their season. With each meeting, the team gains valuable experience and looks to build on its performance in the future.
